Full Moon Practices Quick + Fun

fullmoonThe full moon is symbolic of the peak of clarity and fullness, and can help shed light on what is holding you back in your new moon intentions. That is why often times you can use the full moon to cleanse and release. Generally the first 8 hours of the full moon are the most powerful, but it’s not always convenient to be up and doing them within the first 8 hours, so aim for the first 48 hours after the full moon for your full moon traditions.

There are tons and tons of ways people work with the moon’s energy. Even if you are new to the full moon you can still harness the energy of the full moon, try some of these quickies:

Chakra Cleansing Meditation: Start by getting in contact with the earth and grounding yourself, take some deep breaths and get comfortable. Next imagine each of your chakras, bright and clean and spinning perfectly. If there is any gunk in them gently let it clear away. Once all of your chakras are clean, imagine a large conduit from your root chakra all the way to the center of the earth, your energy is traveling down to the center of the earth and back up through your chakras to your crown chakra where it extends up to the universe. Let this energy run back and forth as long as you would like. Once this is done remember to drink plenty of water.

3 Minute Full Moon Routine:

  1. Start by drawing down the moon’s energy, you can do this by imagining the glow of the moon coming down and surrounding you. You can sit or stand with your arms outstretched and your palms up, you are making a “Y” with your arms and body, also similar to a tree pose in yoga with both feet planted and arms up. This energy should feel very empowering.
  2. Bring your hands together over your head, and pull your hands down to heart center drawing the energy towards your heart chakra. Take a few deep breaths as you allow yourself to open to the cleansing energy of the moon, releasing anything you need to on the exhales.
  3. Extend the energy you feel enveloping you to your home, yard, city, state, country and finally the world. Continue breathing. Then when you are done, bring your hands to your side, palms down and ground the energy to the earth.

If you write down your goals and dreams you would like to manifest, consider reviewing them on the full moon to see which have come to fruition and what new information may be revealed about manifesting or achieving the ones you haven’t yet achieved.
